Coal is a plentiful resource that has been used for thousands of years to produce energy, both in the form of heat and electricity.
Coal is a fossil fuel created from the remains of plants that lived and died about 100 to 400 million years ago when parts of the earth were covered with huge swampy forests. Coal is classified as a nonrenewable energy source because it takes millions of years to form.
Coal is used primarily as an energy source, either for heat or electricity. It was once heavily used to heat homes and power locomotives and factories. Bituminous coal is also used to produce coke for making steel and other industrial process heating. Coal gasification and coal liquefaction (coal-to-liquids) are also possible uses of coal for producing synthetic fuel. Approximately 4% of the coal mined in the United States is exported, and most of the exported coal is used for making steel.
Charcoal Powder from Rice Husk
Charcoal is produced in kilns and retorts. The thermal decomposition of wood in a kiln with a controlled air supply produces charcoal. The gaseous products and some of the wood are burned. Retort charcoal is generated in the absence of air. Originally, charcoal was used as a smokeless, odorless fuel for heating and cooking and it is still used today for these purposes by people in well-wooded underdeveloped countries. Charcoal granules are used as a food additive for domestic animals. It is used for the production of black powder.
Charcoal from Coconut Shell
Charcoal and purity of any substances has now become a basic requirement of any chemical substance. So many products obtained by processing are dirty in colour and having so many impurities. This problem can be easily solved by adsorption of which carbon has become one of the most generally used materials for the purpose, animal matter. The resulting amorphous products include charcoal coke and petroleum coke. Granulated activated carbons are used for purification of gases or liquids and can be used in a vertical carbon packed column.
Bitumen is defined as viscous liquid, or a solid, consisting essentially of hydrocarbons and their derivatives, which is soluble in trichloro-ethyelene and is substantially nonvolatile and softens gradually when heated. It is black or brown in colour & posseses waterproofing and adhesive properties. It is obtained by refinery processes from petroleum, and is also found as a natural deposit or as a component of naturally occurring asphalt, in which it is associated with mineral matte. Bitumen emulsion is one kind of speciality chemicals, which has large commercial uses as coating materials in the road construction and many other construction fields.
Coal is an extremely heterogeneous, complex material that is difficult to characterize. Coal is a rock formed by geological process and is composed of a number of distinct organic entities (macerals) and lesser amounts of inorganic substances (minerals). Each of the coal macerals and minerals has a unique set of physical and chemical properties, there in turn control the overall behavior of coal. Although much is known about the properties of minerals in coal, for example, the crystal chemistry, crystallography, and magnetic and electrical properties, surprisingly little is known about the properties of individual coal macerals.

Coal Tar Pitch
Coal tar pitch is the residue from the processing of coal tar. Since pitch constituents over 50% of crude tar, its utilization has a major effect on the economics of tar processing. Coal tar pitch is binder for carbon electrodes base for paints and coating. Pitch is a valuable binder for briquetting and in making electrodes. The aluminium industry of the world depends heavily on electrodes made from petroleum coke, pitch coke and pitch.
Activated Charcoal from Wood
Activated wood charcoal is a very important chemical widely employed by certain gases and vapours in purification in catalytic chemical reactions and decolorization of vegetable oils and sugar solutions. Activated wood charcoal is available in diverse forms like symmetrical pellets, irregular shaped granules and in cubical form.
Charcoal from Bagasse
Bagasse is one of the major byproduct of sugar crushing industries. Charcoal is a highly porous form of amorphous carbon. It is one of the half burned bagasse product. Raw material bagasse available in India or throughout the world in the sugar producing countries nearly six to eight months. The technology of charcoal from bagasse is indigeneously available. There is no necessity of import of machinery for the production of charcoal. Charcoal is nothing but the elementary form of carbon.

Coal consumption in India, particularly in the electric power sector, is outpacing India’s domestic production. From 2005 to 2012, India’s coal production grew by only 4.7% per year to about 600 million metric tons while the country’s coal-fired electric power capacity grew by a much faster rate (about 9.4% per year), reaching 150 gigawatts.
The global market for Charcoal is expected to reach about 87288 K MT by 2023 from 61338 K MT in 2016, registering a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 5.17% during the analysis period, 2017-2023.
India’s carbon black market is expected to grow at around 14% CAGR until 2020.
The global carbon black market is expected to surpass $25 billion by 2020 growing at a CAGR of over 4%. Driven by rising demand from tyre industry, in addition to construction and manufacturing sectors which use carbon black to provide strength to industrial rubber compounds and other equipment.
